Our CSR approach
At Unil Opal, we integrate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) into our projects. Aware of the environmental, social and economic challenges associated with our sector of activity, we have chosen to integrate these issues into our industrial organisation in a concrete and sustainable manner.
Committed governance: a CSR steering committee
To bring this approach to life, Unil Opal has set up a CSR steering committee. This committee brings together various representatives from the company and is responsible for:
- defining priorities in terms of sustainable development,
- monitoring the actions undertaken,
- regularly evaluating performance,
- involving all employees in this process.
As we move forward with the ecological transition, we are making progress by incorporating CSR into all our activities.
An international rating: the EcoVadis bronze medal
In 2025, Unil Opal was awarded the EcoVadis bronze medal, a global benchmark for CSR assessment.
This distinction recognises the company’s efforts in four key areas:
- Environment,
- Social and human rights,
- Business ethics,
- Responsible procurement.
This rating reinforces our commitment to progress and raise our standards to meet the expectations of our customers, partners and employees.
We are ranked in the TOP 35 companies in the same sector that have applied for EcoVadis rating.

A national distinction: the Responsible Care Favourite Trophy
In the same year, Unil Opal received the Responsible Care Coup de Cœur Trophy, awarded by France Chimie. This award highlights our commitment to innovative and exemplary initiatives aimed at improving safety, environmental protection and social responsibility in the chemical industry.

A continuous improvement approach
Our transition relies on the continuous improvement of all our teams. Everyone’s role is essential. Every employee plays an active part in this process. Let us continue to work together to make UNIL OPAL a responsible manufacturer, recognised for its commitments and proud of its achievements.
